As a trading company, we always strive to do our part for climate protection and sustainable action. That is why we have made it our business to work exclusively with producers and to purchase products for which no healthy forests are cleared and which contribute to environmental protection and also to the local economic situation. To this end, we support a variety of projects, among others:
Namibia
Encroaching bushes drain groundwater from the soil, threatening native plant species, animals and the economic use of the land. By harvesting these bushes and charring them into, for example,
Acacia hardwood charcoal, the original plant species are promoted and the range of movement of indigenous animals is increased.
South Africa
One of the aims of this project is the removal of the tree species
"Black Wattle", which has a negative impact on the water balance and native plant diversity, especially in riparian zones. Black Wattle coal is extracted from this tree. The project also promotes the creation of local jobs.
Cuba
The invasive shrub "El Marabú" threatens around 1.2 million hectares of land in Cuba by pushing back native flora and fauna and depriving them of habitat. Among other things, the shrub is cleared for the production of Marabu charcoal.
